For the second year in a row, Freedom ran back the opening kickoff for a touchdown as Darius Webb provided the score.  Freedom continued with big plays all night, as Webb reached the end zone the first three times he touched the ball (with one called back for holding).Dylan Markwith had a long TD run as well as an interception with a return to the 5.CB West was able to mount a couple of drives in the first half, but was pretty well shut down in the second half as the defense picked it up as the game went on.

Freedom got off to a rough start due to special teams play, as Emmaus recovered two fumbled kickoffs and also downed a punt inside the 5 yard line in the first quarter. Due to a couple of fourth down stops, Emmaus was held to one touchdown despite the field position advantage. Freedom’s offensive line did a good job of opening holes for Darrius Webb and Okezie Alozie stopped a late 1^st halff Emmaus threat with an interception as Freedom built a 14 -7 halftime advantabe.

In the second half, Freedom dominated play with two long scoring drives that ate up the clock. Freedom also was able to bottle up Emmaus’ running attack. Emmaus did move the ball through the air with an accurate passing attack, but could not keep pace with the Pates. Emmaus kept the score close with a score with three seconds remaining.

In a hard fought and close contest, Freedom started strong and looked to be building a lead. Emmaus returned an interception for a touchdown near the end of the half to tie the score at 14. Freedom was unable to mount much offense in the second half, and Emmaus was able to get one long drive to score the winning touchdown. Freedom’s last drive was halted by and interception near the goal line with just a few seconds left on the clock.
